FAQ - ClipZ

All the answers about ClipZ, the online video party game.

Is ClipZ free?

Yes, ClipZ is 100% free, with no account and no ads. A support button (Ko-fi) exists to keep the site alive, but the whole game is free.

How many players?

From 2 to 12 players. The “Guess Who” mode requires at least 3 players.

Which video platforms are supported?

TikTok, YouTube (Shorts and regular videos), Instagram (Reels and posts) and X (tweets with text, photo or video).

Does the site download the videos?

No, never. ClipZ only keeps the title and thumbnail; the video plays through the platform's official player. The server only runs the game: players, rounds, votes and scores.

How does scoring work?

Everything is computed server-side. VOTE mode: the video gets a score from −1000 to +1000 based on the votes, the author wins that score, and each 💎 Gem placed earns 50% of the score (good or bad bet). Try Not To Laugh: every laugh is +1 and the player with the fewest points wins.

Can I play on mobile?

Yes, the interface adapts to phones. Many groups play with the game on a big screen (TV, Discord stream) while voting from their phones.

Do I need to install an app?

No, ClipZ runs directly in the browser, on PC and mobile. You can add the site to your phone's home screen to open it like an app.

What happens if a player disconnects?

The game continues. The player can reconnect automatically and find their spot again. If the host leaves, the host role is transferred to the longest-connected player.

Is there chat or voice?

A built-in chat is available in the game. For voice, most groups use Discord or a call during the game.

How do I share my score?

At the end of the game, every player can share a score card image on X, WhatsApp, Telegram or Facebook.
